Introduction

Dyson, a brand synonymous with innovation and design, has made a bold move with its latest release – the 360 Vis Nav. This marks Dyson’s first foray into the U.S. robotic vacuum market since 2016, following the less than successful launch of the Dyson 360 Eye.

The Arrival of the 360 Vis Nav

On March 12, Dyson unveiled the 360 Vis Nav, priced at a staggering $1,199.99. Despite the steep price, the product sold out on Dyson’s official website, Amazon, and Best Buy within weeks. This begs the question – what makes the 360 Vis Nav so special?

A New Design

The design of the 360 Vis Nav is a complete deviation from the previous model, the 360 Eye. The new model retains the signature Dyson aesthetics – a bright indigo exterior and an exposed dust bin – but with a completely revamped form factor. Instead of a circular shape, the 360 Vis Nav adopts a D-shaped design, similar to what we’ve seen from iRobot’s Roomba s9+.

The Cleaning Features

One of the most innovative features of the 360 Vis Nav is an extendable side duct that redirects suction power to the edges, promising to tackle dust and debris that often elude round robot vacuums. Furthermore, it features a heat map-like detection system that increases suction in dust-heavy areas.

A Matter of Suction Power

The 360 Vis Nav boasts Dyson’s Hyperdymium motor, which spins at up to 110,000 RPM. According to Dyson, this results in double the suction power of any competing robot vacuum, at least in Boost mode. The vacuum offers four suction modes in total.

Missed Opportunities

Surprisingly, the 360 Vis Nav does not include features like mopping, small obstacle detection, or self-emptying, which are common in premium robot vacuums. Considering its high price tag, the omission of these features is quite surprising.

The Verdict

As we continue to test the 360 Vis Nav, we are comparing its performance with similarly-priced models like the Roomba Combo j9+ and Narwal Freo X Ultra. We’ll have a detailed review ready as soon as the product is restocked. For now, it’s too early to say if the 360 Vis Nav justifies its high price.
